The room was dark. Nysa’s hands and legs were tied with chains to the poles around.

“We must not tell her yet” she heard a deep commanding voice. She tried to speak and scream, but couldn’t. A piece of cloth was puffed into her mouth.

“Should we then prison her until she comes? Starve our savior?” said another man.

“That are the orders. We will wait until morning. Until she comes” replied the man.

Nysa frowned. She had been here since the last evening, locked up alone in the room. All she saw was a man checking up on her every hour, politely asking her if she needs anything. She knew the kidnappers meant no harm, but she missed being home. She feared what her father would be going through without her. Just another morning, she thought.

She opened her eyes hearing the loud knock on the door. A young lady stepped in. Guards were stationed around her.

“Good morning love,” she said. The lady was dressed formally in a black suit. Her long hair perfectly tied high. A dark red lipstick complemented her beauty. A guard stepped ahead and removed the piece of cloth that choked Nysa. She took a deep breath and replied confidently.

“Who are you”

“I have missed you,” said the Lady.

“Who- are-you” asked Nysa irritatedly.

“Your eyes are just like mine” the lady signaled the guards to leave. As the guards retreated, she sat down beside Nysa and caressed her face. She took a deep breath, wiped her tears and replied to Nysa’s question with a soft smile.

“Your mother. Doesn’t my touch feel warm and safe?”

“You left me. I hold no feelings for you. LEAVE!” shouted Nysa. Her eyes were erupting with tears. Tears of love but hatred.

“I missed you so much! Let me explain please!” begged the lady.

“Let me leave. Father would be worried”

“I was compelled to leave. Compelled to forget you. I never wanted to. I had to Nysa.”

“You lie. You never loved me.”

“And why would a mother abandon her daughter? ”

“I have been finding the answer to that all my life”

“Nysa, give me a chance and make your choice. But hear my story before you make the choice”

“Enough! You left me and that is the truth!”

“There is something that you aren’t aware of. You aren’t ordinary. I left to protect you from someone who tried to kill you the moment you were born. ”

“Why would anyone kill me?”

“The answer to that lies within you. You aren’t ordinary. Your future isn’t ordinary. Grave but great things await.”

“I wish to go back to my father”

“He died. They killed him” sobbed the lady.
